New Gloucestershire Homes & Gardens section officially launched on SoGlos

SoGlos has officially unveiled its new Gloucestershire Homes & Gardens section this March, as part of the online magazine’s continued evolution into a flourishing Gloucestershire lifestyle title.

The new Gloucestershire Homes & Gardens section was created to fulfil a desire from discerning readers in Gloucestershire and across the Cotswolds for professional, topical and informative homes and gardens content – particularly the large proportion of SoGlos readers who are planning on updating or improving their homes and gardens or intending to buy or sell properties in and around the county in the next 12 months.

Editorial and content marketing highlights from the new section, meanwhile, have already included the first in a brand new Gloucestershire property column from prestigious Cheltenham estate agents Charles Lear; viral hot lists spanning inspirational hotel interiors, tips for making your property more saleable, as well as well as places to pick up vintage homewares; not to mention the latest news about Farrow & Ball and Neptune’s launch into Cheltenham, for example.

The dedicated new Gloucestershire Homes & Gardens section has now opened up a wealth of targeted marketing opportunities on SoGlos for a wide range of businesses – with exciting new content marketing, commercial guides, social media and display advertising opportunities all in the pipeline.

We are delighted to reveal SoGlos is official media partners of Cheltenham Festivals for 2017.

Cheltenham Festivals is a charity that produces distinctive, cutting-edge programming; champions the best in up-and-coming talent; supports established names and commissions unique work; as well as working with local communities and young audiences to enrich lives.

The affinity with SoGlos’s own mission to inspire a diverse audience on living in and enjoying Gloucestershire; champion the importance of culture in all of our lives; as well as promoting and increasing participation in Gloucestershire’s rich calendar of events, is clear. And, with between 71 and 76 per cent of Cheltenham Festival’s audiences hailing from Gloucestershire, we couldn’t think of a better synergy.

Working with Cheltenham Festivals across all four world-class annual events, including Cheltenham Jazz Festival in April; Cheltenham Science Festival in June; Cheltenham Music Festival in July; and Cheltenham Literature Festival in October, throughout 2017 the SoGlos team will be producing rich and engaging content marketing and editorial for Cheltenham Festivals – with some exciting collaborations in the pipeline.

SoGlos is official media partner of Kingsholm Little Mix concert

SoGlos is thrilled to be teaming up with Gloucester Rugby as official media partner for its sell-out Little Mix concert at Kingsholm Stadium, this summer.

While general admission tickets quickly sold-out on the day they went on sale to the public, there is still some hospitality availability for the big event of the summer, costing from £120 per person.

Gloucestershire – SoSpectacular video goes viral

Premiered on Monday 14 November 2016, SoGlos’s Gloucestershire – SoSpectacular video has already notched up more than 110,000 video views on Facebook alone, in less than three days, as well as being liked more than 1,000 times.

Featuring stunning venues, locations and events across Gloucestershire, SoGlos’s epic video produced by the brilliant Squashed Robot Films celebrates our spectacular county in two-minutes and 30-seconds.

With Gloucester Cathedral, Batsford Arboretum, Gloucester Rugby, Le Champignon Sauvage, Sudeley Castle, Beaufort Polo Club, Everyman Theatre, Giffords Circus, Stroud Farmers Market and Slimbridge Wetland Centre amongst the 20-plus locations to have made the final cut.

We are absolutely thrilled the SoSpectacular film has reached so many people already, with Facebook comments spanning ‘so lucky to have this on my door stop’ and ‘Carlsberg don’t make counties… but if they did’ to ‘wow truly amazing video’ and ‘home sweet home’.

A massive thank you goes out to everyone who has shared, commented or liked the film on Facebook – and, of course, everyone who took part in the filming too.

New Facebook-powered comments facility unveiled

Food_winamealfortwoatthemontpellierchapter_2While SoGlos’s content is written exclusively for the online magazine by our in-house team of journalists, we’ve been itching to give readers a greater voice and are delighted to announce the launch of a brand new Facebook-powered comments facility to do just that.

Now available right across SoGlos, you’ll have the opportunity to tell your friends what unmissble events you’ll be going to; share your opinions on the best restaurants, hotels and spas in the county; and have your say on breaking news.

The opportunity to comment is available on everything from event previews, reviews and guides, to news, interviews and features.

And with more than half the population already registered with Facebook, it’ll mean you won’t have to create a separate SoGlos login and try to remember which email address and password you used next time you logon.

The new functionality is bespoke to SoGlos but harnesses the power of Facebook’s established commenting system, and was officially unveiled today to celebrate our sixth birthday.

Give commenting on SoGlos a try for yourself, and you could be in the running to win a meal for two at The Montpellier Chapter in Cheltenham.
