Cheltenham Racecourse and SoGlos launch first Gloucestershire-wide Shop Window competition to celebrate The Festival™ presented by Magners

Being launched in February 2019, to celebrate ‘the four days of extraordinary’ that take place annually in Gloucestershire, Cheltenham Racecourse and SoGlos have teamed-up to create this unique competition which will see a host of bold and beautiful windows emblazoned with racing themes fill the county. With a top prize worth £4,000 up for grabs.

Who can take part in the competition?

Shops, restaurants, bars, pubs, cafés, hair salons, offices – any type of business or organisation in Gloucestershire can get involved, provided they have a public-facing window!

How do you enter the competition?

To take part, businesses or organisations simply have to imaginatively dress their window with a racing theme, created in keeping with The Festival’s four days of extraordinary, by Friday 1 March 2019.

The window will have to be kept decorated for all to enjoy throughout The Festival™ presented by Magners , when judges will visit a shortlist of entries.

And you will need to share your window on social media, either Twitter, Facebook or Instagram – or all three, by posting a photo of it using the #festivalshopwindow hashtag.

What is the competition prize?

The first prize is worth £4,000 – including £2,000 in cash from Cheltenham Racecourse and an advertising campaign worth £2,000 from SoGlos.

With two runner’s up prizes worth £1,000 – each including £500 cash and a £500 advertising campaign.

‘The Festival™ presented by Magners is undoubtedly one of Gloucestershire’s biggest annual events, so it’s wonderful that this is the first time businesses and organisations right across the county have been encouraged to take part in this unique competition,’ SoGlos group editor, Michelle Fyrne, said. ‘We hope it really captures people’s imaginations!’

And while retail businesses across Cheltenham have got into the racing spirit by decorating their windows for many years, this is also the first time other types of businesses have been invited to join in too.
