It’s official! SoGlos is the best website in the whole South West of England, winning ‘Website of the Year 2014’ at yesterday’s prestigious EDF Energy South West Media Awards ceremony.
Held at The Bristol Hotel in the city’s harbour quarter, the event saw the crème de la crème of the south west’s media industry come together to find out who’d scooped everything from ‘Daily Newspaper of the Year’, ‘Radio News Programme of the Year’ and ‘Television News Programme of the Year’ to, of course, ‘Website of the Year’.
Editor and co-founder Michelle Fyrne, deputy editor Shelly McCatty and editorial intern Lara Shingles represented the online magazine on the day, anxious to find out whether we’d beaten off some real big hitters in the region, including the Bristol Post, Swindon Advertiser and Plymouth Herald.
The judges were reported to have been particularly impressed with SoGlos, describing it as a site which ‘punches above its weight both traffic-wise and commercially, with a well rounded editorial package,’ and the team here couldn’t be more delighted to receive the amazing news.
Thank you to all of our readers and advertisers for helping to make SoGlos the multi-award winning online magazine it is today, and for a full round up of the 2014 awards see www.holdthefrontpage.co.uk/2014/news/edf-south-west-awards-what-the-judges-said/.
