About the role

As a senior advertising sales consultant for SoGlos you will be focused on new business sales, targeting and working with a diverse array of companies in and around Gloucestershire. You will advise them on the best ways to achieve their marketing goals and attract new customers through our tried-and-tested range of advertising services – from powerful display advertising and engaging content marketing to social media support, innovative video and prestigious sponsorship opportunities.

From restaurants, attractions, entertainment venues and retailers through to independent schools, interiors companies, estate agents, solicitors and wedding dress boutiques, you will immerse yourself in Gloucestershire’s thriving business community, quickly establishing yourself as an authoritative advertising expert.

You will source leads through a range of channels, taking charge of your own diary and field sales appointments, identifying clients’ needs and confidently communicating the proven benefits of advertising on SoGlos. You will devise creative client campaign ideas and negotiate and win contracts, managing and growing your accounts on an ongoing basis.

This is a full-time, permanent role.

About you

You are a career-driven, motivated individual with experience working in a fast-paced B2B new business field sales environment.

You are confident selling over the phone, presenting face-to-face and attending networking events, and will be used to anticipating and overcoming objections.

You are a charismatic and pro-active self-starter who enjoys working on your own initiative, you’re outgoing, personable and unwaveringly positive.

You are also highly-organised with exceptional attention to detail, and while we’re not looking for techie geeks, you are a web user and know Facebook from Instagram! An avid interest in Gloucestershire lifestyle is essential, and knowledge of Bristol would be a real plus.

Above all else, you are a driven individual, passionate about your career and someone who gets a real buzz from hunting for sales and achieving results, whilst thriving under the pressure of a target-driven environment.

Salary, commission and perks

  • Basic starting salary of £25,000 to £30,000
  • Achievable monthly commission structure and uncapped on-target earnings of £40,000 to £50,000 per annum
